About

Hey there!  A bit about me:

I have a Masters Degree in Counselor Education from Northeastern Illinois University, and I have had a private practice based in New Jersey for the past several years.  While I still do some work face to-face with clients, I’ve also started doing a lot of my parent coaching work via telephone and Skype.  This enables me to work with folks from around the world and gives me a lot of flexibility as well.

I’ve worked with kids since I was a teenager myself and with families since 1996.  I ran a Gang Intervention and Prevention Initiative in Chicago for five years that served 1000 youth and their families each year.  I’ve also done a lot of work in the substance abuse field, and recently finished running a $4.8 million Safe Schools/Healthy Students grant in Bergen County, NJ.

Beyond my schooling, I’ve studied a lot of other stuff like different approaches to coaching and personal development and I really like using those tools to help people.  In 2005 I was featured as a Life Coach on the reality TV show Relationship Rehab on the Style Network.  That was a cool experience, and I would like to do more TV work, but creating those opportunities hasn’t been a big priority for me in recent years.

Beyond that, my interests include Fitness, Outdoors activities like biking, hiking, rafting, Eastern Philosophy, and of course a good joke.
